Holmen Kornfest Parade
Rules, Procedures and Fees
Changes
on the Application Rules and Procedures for 2011:
·
We are charging
fees again this year. Thank you for your cooperation and
understanding.
The Holmen
Lions Club makes many charitable contributions to organizations
in the Village of Holmen and throughout the Coulee Region.
Our good works also reach out to the rest of our state and the
world through the Wisconsin Lions Foundation and the Lions Club
International Foundation.
·
We are limiting
our entries to 140 this year. This will hopefully make for a
shorter and higher quality parade. The Kornfest Parade
Committee has the final say on all applications. Past
participation in the parade does not ensure future
participation.
·
We are setting a
deadline of August 12th for all applications. We will
not be taking entries up to the start of the parade. Late
applications will be returned.
·
All applications
must be:
1.
Completely filled out
2.
Accompanied by the appropriate Registration Fee
·
Applications
missing information or the accompanying fee will be returned.
If it is humanly possible we will call to get missing
information. Please check it twice before you send it, this is
not a guarantee.
·
We are limiting
mailings. Look for applications on our website
www.holmenlions.org,
area newspapers or pick one up at the Holmen Edward Jones office
at 106 S. Holmen Drive. Your parade lineup number and parade
day instructions will be posted on our website and published in
the Holmen Courier on August 15th.
·
We will not be
accepting changes in the lineup after the application deadline
unless we have made an error. The Parade Committee will decide
the order of appearance for all units. Additional information
regarding special circumstances will be entertained, but this is
no guarantee we will make a change.
·
You can put as
many horses and other animals as you like into the parade, but
you must have your own manure cleanup. This includes cleanup
for the staging area, the parade route and the dispersal area.
Be prepared to answer several questions regarding cleanup before
your application is accepted.
·
We love candy. We
love children. Do not throw candy or
items from moving vehicles. Children and moving vehicles do not
mix. You may disperse all the candy and promotional
items you can carry, but you must have people walking the parade
route to do so.
